Hot compress can be done with a towel dampened in warm water whereas cold compress can be done simply by using a sealed bag of ice wrapped in a towel and applying directly on knees. This will help to relieve your pain and reduces inflammation. These compresses should not be used for more than 20 minutes. Use hot compress for8-10 minutes and then switch off to cold compress for the same amount of time.
Epsom salt
Sulfate magnesium is one of the major components of Epsom salt that helps to prevent blood clots and hardening of arthritis, thus helps to reduce inflammation and relieves pain. A cup of Epsom salt baths aid recovery from soreness and muscle pain.
Dissolve 1 or 2 cups of Epsom salt crystals in hot water to produce a mineral water treatment that helps to sore muscles and relieve your pain. Remain in the tub for 12-15 minutes and gradually increase up to 20 minutes. Do this thrice a week for best results.
Flaxseed
Flaxseed oil is a natural remedy to lessen arthritis pain, this oil is laden with alpha-linolenic acid. This flaxseed composes omega3 fatty acids that reduce inflammation. There are different ways to use flaxseed. For flaxseed compresses, use flaxseed flour and hot water to make a fine paste and apply on the affected areas with a warm cloth.

Alfalfa seeds is a best supplement for arthritis pain relief. They contain fatty oil, homostacydrine, L-canvaine and is best used in making tea. Just add few alfalfa seeds to boiling water to make a cup of fresh tea. Drink this tea 3 times a day to ease your inflammation. Alfalfa capsules also get the same effect for arthritis.
